Without the entertainment options big towns have to offer, children have to get creative in Newark. They can spend time brushing up on some literature at the local library, having a fun adventure splashing around in the creek, or playing at one of the many town parks.
The Village of Newark features three different parks in different areas of town: adjacent to the bank, amidst the townhouse baseball diamonds and picnic areas, or across the street from Charles B. Phillips Public Library. All three parks are often occupied by the lovely townspeople with laughs and cheers to be heard blocks away.
The Town Park is the center of celebration any time of the year. The Winter Walk-About and Street Dance, two of the largest celebrations in town revolve around the park. It offers a focal point for people of the town to gather and have a good time together. Children can laugh and play while adults share a grand tale from the previous work day.
The less occupied of the three is the park next to the bank. This park is mostly used by the families that reside across 71, Many of them have small children who enjoy the myriad of different things to play on and explore. This park features a rainbow dome, slide, play set, and more. The park is also completely surrounded by a fence that can give the parents a peace of mind and also give children the freedom of playtime.
The final park to be discussed is the famous Townhouse Park. Here, there are many different get togethers held, such as families enjoying a picnic at the pavilion, children playing a baseball game or playing on the play set . One of the main roads into Newark passes by Townhouse allowing visitors to get a glance at the hard working children swinging the bat!
